Singer Amy Winehouse has been arrested by British police on suspicion of assault. The hitmaker, 24, is reported to have headbutted a man while out drinking in the Good Mixer public house in Camden, north London, in the early hours of Wednesday.
The alleged victim, 38, filed a police complaint against Winehouse on Thursday and authorities in the British capital then launched a formal investigation into the accusations.
Winehouse voluntarily turned herself in to London's Holborn Police Station on Friday evening to be quizzed by cops, and she was subsequently put under arrest.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson has confirmed the singer is currently being held in custody, but she is expected to be released on bail soon.
A spokesperson for Winehouse could not be reached for comment as WENN went to press.
